Some Chardonnay´s Tasted & Drunk

2014 Valhalla Chardonnay, Man O´War
A big, smoky nose with notes of grilled lemons, toasted almonds, ripe peach and some rubber scents. Large scaled, just as most of Manowars songs.
The taste is young and steady with notes of lemon cream, almond paste, smoke and some tropical fruit. Very long, warm and better structured than on the nose. Very good. A perfect drink to listen to Warriors Of The World United.

2014 Chardonnay, Starmont
A perky, fresh nose with notes of red basil, grilled lemons, white pears and lime fudge. Very deep and refined. Really fine. Some buttery aromas with air.
The taste is young and tight with notes of lemon cream, ripe summer flowers, assorted nuts and cap gun smoke. Long and lingering. This is a fine bottle of Chardonnay.

1993 Corton Charlemagne, Louis Jadot
A lovely, rounded, creamy nose with notes of smoke, butter cookies, lemon cream, almond paste and sun warm rocks. A very fine maturity. A dry richness to the fruit.
The taste is dry, concentrated and very long with notes of salted biscuits, dried lemons, some tropical fruits notes, smoke and dried flowers. A very fine salty note. Really good. Mature but still packing a punch.

2003 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Combes, Marc Colin
A deep, spicy, mature nose with notes of dried up lavender honey, parsnips, yellow plums and a touch of cold creme brulée. Intense and complex. Very fine. A cool, creamy character. Perfect maturity.
The taste is finely tuned, mature and velvety with notes of spicy lemons, herbs, hard lemon candy and flint. A long, balanced finish. Very, very good. On top of its game.

2002 Ancien Cuvée Chardonnay, Jean Fleur
A mature, ripe, warm nose with notes of old melons, plastic, smoke and hay. A bit too old.
The taste is mature, broad and warm with notes of old yellow apples, earth and oil cloth. A medium long, dry finish. Hanging in there, but just so.

2014 Yarra Valley Drive Block 864 Single Block Release Chardonnay, Oakridge
A refined, chalky and flinty nose with notes of sweet/sour lemons, grass, elderberries and a hint of white pepper. A bit laid back in a elegant fashion. Very, very good.
The taste is young and focused with notes of white flowers, ripe lemons, minerals and some grassy notes. Long, cool and very fine.
