A Bottle of Bubbly - 2004 Cuvée Prestige Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs, Michel Gonet

Did notice this bottle at one of the state monopoly´s shops in Stockholm. Since I never tasted anything from this producer, I thought I would have a go at one bottle.

There will be more bottles!

2004 Cuvée Prestige Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs, Michel Gonet
This Blanc de Blancs just oozes up from the glass with impressive notes of ripe yellow apples, freshly washed clothes, butter cookies, almond paste, warm gooseberries, ginger and lots of sweet minerals. Has depth, focus and character. This I like!
The taste is cool, fresh and elegant with notes of yellow apples, fudge, summer flowers, almond and a lovely smoky note. The finish is medium long and fresh. This is a great drinking Champagne. Had the finish been a bit longer and packing a bit more punch, this would have been a real stunner. But for 37 Euro this is steal! I´m loading up!
