Friday Dinner Barolo - 2011 Barolo, Brezza
What do you crave after five days in Langhe tasting 100+ Baroli...?
Barolo of course!
2011 Barolo, Brezza
Drunk with some tasty tortelloni (filled with parma ham and mozzarella) and a tomato and basil sauce. The nose is cool and red fruit driven with notes of dry licorice, earth, paint and warm tiles. The scent of a lacquered table. Medium deep and fine.
The taste is old school dry and seedy with notes of hard cherry candy, forest floor and dried flowers. Fine young, somewhat rough tannins. A fine warmth at the end. 5+ years.
89p (tasted 2019/04)
