The Whites
2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriettes, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard
A refined, cool nose with notes of lemon fudge, white flowers, grey pears and lots of minerals. Very fine.
The taste is young, tight and crisp with gorgeous fruit, a high acidity and a long, intense finish. Great wine. 6+ years.

2022 Muschelkalk Silvaner, Leopold
A upfront, juicy nose with notes of pear ice cream, tangerines, grape and chalk. Very, very good.
The taste is tight and seedy with notes of white peach, chalk and chrushed rocks. Needs time.

2014 Scheurebe Kabinett, Keller
As usual, a stunner. The distinctive aroma og grapefruit oozes up from the glass alongside notes of apricots, dried flowers and chrushed rocks.
The taste is stony and fresh with notes of grapefruit, apricots, lime and minerals. Pure as a mountain river. No signs of aging. Could go on forever.

2005 Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Spätlese, Grans-Fassian
A fine, soft, mature nose with notes of dried yellow apples, petrol and sun warm rocks.
The taste is round and silky with notes of candied fruit, some rubbery notes and flint. Fully mature.

A deep, smoky nose with notes of ripe red apples, dark fudge, fried nuts and dried flowers. Hints of maturity. Very fine.
The taste is structured and tight with notes of yellow plums, dried flowers, chalk and nuts. A very fine acidity. 4+ years.

A handsome, elegant nose with notes of licorice, Langhe earth and ripening red cherries. Very fine.
The taste is cool and refined with a lovely balance, fine red fruit and a long, silky finish. 4+ years.

A deep, somewhat nature nose with notes of dried cherries, violets, earth and warm tiles.
The taste is tighter than the nose leads on, with notes of hard cherry candy, tobacco, licorice and earth. Broad tannins in the finish. 4+ years.

2020 Château Montrose
Apparently a 100 point wine all over the place. At this stage in its life, not for me. The nose jumps put of the glass with notes of cool black currants, espresso, charcoal and cool asphalt. Very, very deep.
The taste is very, very young, rich and concentrated with lots of tannins, lots of black fruit and lots of potential. Oooh, so young. Give this 20+ years, at least.

NV No 11 Hoffman Dollwitz, Sami-Odi
This Barossa beauty offers up a deep, handsome nose with ethereal notes of tobacco, beet root, moist earth, black fruit and wet dog fur. Immensly impressive.
The taste is brilliant with finesse, refinement and lots and lots of black fruit. A minute long finish. Truly exceptional.
A kind of Solera wine - 46% of 2021, 18% of 2020, 16% of 2019, 2% of 2018, 9% of 2017, 5% of 2016 and 4% of 2015.

A deep, tight nose with notes of rosemary spiced black cherries, licorice, tobacco, new leather and a Tuscan gravel road. Very, very fine.
The taste is tight and concentrated with notes of nougat, black cherries, tobacco, warm tiles and sugared coffee. Very, very long. 6+ years.

A bottomless deep nose with stunning notes of wool, candied apricots, almond paste and ginger. Very complex and fine.
The taste is racy and refined with notes of yellow raisins, wool, ginger ice cream and toasted almonds. A minute long finish. 10+ years.
