2006 Sammarco, Castello Dei Rampolla
2006 Sammarco, Castello dei Rampolla
Last tasted nine years ago, time flies! And the bottles have lied patiently in the cellar during that time, but now it was time to open one.
The nose is deep, structured and fine with notes of ripe black currants, graphite, violets, sunwarm rocks and the distinct aroma of a hockey puck! A fine depth with some bonfire scents after some time in the glass. Ripe fruit. Very, very good.
The taste is tight and seedy with notes of ripe black currants, violets, bakelite, cherry licorice and thyme. Dense and fine. Needs time to open up. On the verge of maturity but this still needs another 4+ years in the cellar.
