2007 Barolo Vigneto Brunate, Andrea Oberto

2007 Barolo Vigneto Brunate, Andrea Oberto
The first sniff is of wood. Wood in a Andrea Oberto wine? But I guess they also introduce some new botti akong the line. Maybe so for this vintage. Besides the wood notes there are fine aromas of cranberries, rhubarb licorice, sour cherries and sunwarm warm asphalt. Open and fine. Very, very good.
The taste is tight and warm with notes of dried raspberries, cranberries, dried sage and licorice. Some tobacco notes in the finish. Some maturity. Long. 5+ years.
