2010 Barbaresco Riserva Sori` Paitin Vecchie Vigne, Paitin
Right out of the gate, a fabolous, lively nose with a low key intensity and notes of autumn leaves, rosehips, hard cherry candy, shoe polish, touch of bonfire smoke and ripe banana peel. Very complex. A fine depth. Great wine.
The taste shows a hint of maturity and notes of hard cherry candy, cool tobacco, undergrowth and dried flowers. Understated elegance. Very, very long. Silky tannins. Really fine. 3+ years. Drinking this beauty I got delightful reminiscences from The Barolo Boys visit to Paitin last year.
