Friday Dinner Barolo - 2012 Barolo, Andrea Oberto

2012 Barolo, Andrea Oberto
This (almost) seven year old Barolo needed an hour in the decanter to come around, and then it deliver fine notes of dried up cherry jam, bonfire smoke, Finnish licorice and paint. A hint of warmth. A fine depth. Very, very good.
The taste is tighter than the nose with notes of ripe cherries, dried strawberries, earth and tobacco. Very yummy in an direct, old school style. For drinking now and the coming 6+ years.
