1964 Niersteiner Kehr Feine Auslese, Weingut Winzermeister Heinrich Seip. Nierstein
A family estate since 1696... The nose is delicate and mature with notes of dried apricots, orange peel, rubber and moist earth.
The taste is dry and mature with a fine dried up sweetness and notes of apricots, candied oranges, dry grass and rubber. Mature but offers up a nice drinking experience.
87p (tasted 2022/11)
2009 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Auslese, Robert Weil
From one om my favourite producers, this delivers the goods. The nose is very deep, explosive and just stunning with notes of juicy peaches, Sevilla oranges, matchbox and lots of sweet minerals. Gorgeous.
The taste is intense and ethereal with a breathtaking concentration, an abudance of ripe fruit, a piercing acidity and a lenght that is counted in minutes. A baby, this needs 10+ years in the cellar.
94p (tasted 2022/11)
