Two Bottles Of Chablis

1992 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, Jean-Claude Bessin
A soft, mature nose with notes of dried honey, autumn leaves, dried yellow fruit and some soapy notes.
The taste is smoky and kind of complex with notes of dried apricots, grilled lemons and hay. Very good.
87p   (tasted 2026/10)

1999 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur, Régnard
A deep, tight nose with notes of almond paste, hard lemon candy, chrushed rocks and a grassy note. Very, very good.
The taste is mineral laden and still on the young side of things, with notes of lemon peel, grey pears and smoke. Long.
91p   (tasted 2026/10)
