2009 Barolo Riserva Cerretta Vigna Bricco, Altare
2009 Barolo Riserva Cerretta Vigna Bricco, Altare
This needed a few hours to really open up but then is displays gorgeous notes of cherry licorice, graphite, fir wood, violets, paint and undergrowth. Very, very deep and refined. Still very young.
The taste is tight, concentrated and juciy with notes of hard cherry candy, bakelite, rosehips, forest floor and candle grease. Very, very long. Blotting paper bristly in the finish. This will need plenty of time, 10+ years. A great wine but not as marvellous as the 2008 or the 2011.
95p (tasted 2019/02)
