Two Fine Bottles Of Pinot

A couple of months ago, Håkan opened a bunch of great Chardonnay´s. To end a fantastic tasting, Håkan also opened two Pinot´s.

2008 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut Saint-Jacques, Lucien Le Moine
With some maturity, this display a cool, deep nose with lovely notes of dried strawberries, bay leaves, root vegetables and assorted spices. High and fine.
The taste is younger than the nose with notes of rowan berries, earth, warm herbs and frozen strawberries. A very fine acidity. Long and distinct. Very fine. 5+ years.
93p   (tasted 2021/11)

2014 Bearwallow Vineyard Pinot Noir, Rhys
A fine, open, spicy nose with notes of dark almonds, red cherries, balsa wood, herbs and fir wood. A very fine sweetnees to the fruit. Deep.
The taste is tight and fine with lots of ripe fruit, a fine structure and a great length with a cleasing acidity. Focused and fine. 5+ years.
92p   (tasted 2021/11)
