A Nice Refreshment - 2011 Lolik, Manfredi Guccione

Home after a short vacation, and this being the really first warm day this spring.....I needed some refreshment.
And this Trebbiano from Sicily did its work.
4000 bottles made, more info here.
Bought from Terra del Vino for 18 Euro.

2011 Lolik, Manfredi Guccione
A light, fresh, pure nose with notes of ripe lemons, dried honey, white raisins and some sage. Medium deep. Has a dry sweetness to it. A hint of petrol/oil. Very good.
The taste is fine, rather elegant and with notes of warm lemons, dried fruits, gravel and sage. A fine oily feeling in the mouth. Medium long and ends dry. Not heaps of complexity but sipping this in the sun after work is very rewarding.

  1. Great, have not tried it yet but it seems as a good buy, have bought the wines from Paolo Bea but as summer draws close a few Loliks just might come in handy.

Next up Rosso di Montalcino from Fonterenza? :)
