Then & Now - 1989 & 2015 Chateau La Tour de By

1989 Chateau La Tour de By
A finely matured nose with notes of clean stables, dried black currants, pipe tobacco and sugared coffee. Very, very good although a bit loose around the edges.
The taste is medium bodied and soft with notes of autumn leaves, dried black currants and old leather. Medium long. Very good. Fully mature and maybe a tad so.

2015 Chateau La Tour de By
A young, perky nose with notes of plums, black currant leaves, earth and diesel oil. Very, very good in a fresh, modern Bordeaux kind of way.
The taste is young and tight with notes of damsons, undergrowth and pencil shavings. A good structure for medium term aging. A fine dryness in the finish. 6+ years.
