This has been a hellish week work wise, and this bottle was just pulled to get me some quick satisfaction when I got home tonight. Tomorrow it will be time for some more - hopefully - serious, mature bottles...
2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Poliziano
A young, forward, and with some time in the glass, fruity nose with notes of sour cherries, rosemary, cocoa, crushed rocks and a touch of bonfire. Some cigar ashes after a while. Quite upfront and yummy - a very lovely cherry nose.
The taste is tighter with sour/sweet cherries and additional notes of cool liquorice, rosemary, gravel and new leather. The tannins are pretty low keyed but there is a fine acidity. A medium, balanced finish. Very good.
88p (tasted 2015/01)
One thing which I would like to suggest...........Drink from/by
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think ?
I would say from now and the coming 6-7 years, although it will surely keep for longer
DeleteI had the 2007 vintage of this and his has been great value i think, although the last bottle i tried i think indicates thats its time to drink this vintage up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, Flemming!
