A deep, mature, somewhat monolithic nose with notes of forest floor, dried cherries, bakelite, orange peel and tiles. Very good in its sturdy style.
The taste is seedy and dry with notes of asphalt, coffee powder, dried cherries and mushrooms. Very good in a foursquare way.

2004 Barolo Sorí Ginestra, Conterno Fantino
Oouch! There is lots to like here in the shape of ripe fruit, a firm structure and a hint of maturity. But there is a oak layer over everything. I have one bottle of this in my cellar, I will wait 10+ years and cross my fingers...
