I was invited by Brixwine to a lunch with Olivier Rivière, to taste his fine wines from Rioja and Bordeaux. The setting was Emberlin, the new restaurant by Björn Frantzén in Stockholm - great food!

2024 Plaisir Simple
Is this, and the wines below, a part of The New Wave of Bordeaux (as NWOBHM changed rock history - The NWOBHM and how it changed Rock History)?
A lighter, more elegant form of Bordeaux with no new barrique marks on the wines? We´ll see.
The nose is light, elegant and fresh with notes of red currants, plums and a touch of cigarette smoke. Very pure.
The taste is cool and seedy with soft tannins, a very fine acidity and low keyed red fruit. A medium long, dry finish. An easy going, daily drinker. Very, very good. 100% Merlot.
