1970 Château Coufran
A fine, soft, mature nose with notes of dried up black currant jam, dog fur, undergrowth and vintage leather.
The taste is dry and mature with notes of chocolate wafers, dried red currants, autumn leaves and leather. A very fine maturity.
88p (tasted 2024/09)
1990 Château Coufran
A tight, structured nose with notes of graphite, ripe black currants, iron and green peppers. Very, very good.
The taste is taut and fine with notes of sage, ripe black currants, bakelite and coffee. Long and earthy. Nicely structured. Could evolve some more.
90p (tasted 2024/09)
