This is my fourth visit to San Biagio since 2022. Why?
Beacuse Tiziana and Gianluca (and Leo, although the heat made him sleepy the day I visited) are the most gracious hosts that combine kindness, generosity and a focus to make truly great wine (even if they don´t say so, my words).
As Arnold says - I´ll be back.
2024 Langhe Chardonnay Ad Majore
A lively, mineral laden nose with notes of lemon cream and white flowers. Very, very good.
The taste is fresh with lots of lemon fruit, notes of gravel, dry passionfruit and a very good acidity.

2024 Dolcetto d´Alba
A young, perky nose with notes of herbs, iron and ripening blueberries.
The taste is stony and linear with notes of damsons, bakelite and charcoal.

2025 Verduno Pelavergo
A delicate, fine nose with notes of dried raspberries, gravel and a light floral note. Very, very good.
The taste is open and velvety with a very fine red fruit, soft tannins and a lovely herbal note.

2023 Barbera d´Alba Superiore Ad Majore
An open, juciy nose with notes of licorice, asphalt and ripe raspberries. High and fine.
The taste is spicy and warm with a peppery raspberry fruit, a very good acidity and a long, warm finish.

2022 Barbera d´Alba Superiore
A very deep, gorgeous nose with notes of ripe wild raspberries, asphalt and dark cookie dough.
The taste is rich and racy with lots of licorice, raspberries and summer warm asphalt. A very fine acidity.

2023 Langhe Nebbiolo Ad Majore
An easy going, cool nose with notes of red currants, strawberries, rosehips and dry licorice.
The taste is low keyed and elegant with notes of wild strawberries, minerals and some tobacco notes.

2022 Langhe Nebbiolo
A deep, dark nose with notes of assorted spice, ripe cherries and asphalt. Very fine.
The taste is big and steady with lovely cherry fruit, tobacco and dark flowers.

The 21 Montersino has put on weight and focus since I tasted it in January - Barolista: The Barolo Boys In Piedmont - A Visit To San Biagio - just a stunning wine now. 5+ years.

2020 Barolo del Comune di La Morra
Again, tasted in January and even better now with a nicely balanced, fresh nose with notes of red cherries, Langhe earth and rose petals.
The taste is pure and fine with notes of candied cherries, blue ski wax and licorice. 7+ years.

2021 Barolo Galina
I am deeply privileged to get to taste these stunners on a regular basis. Also tasted in January, this just needs 10+ years to become a perfect specimen of a Barolo. The fruit is brilliant, the concentration is of the charts while being refined and focused. Truly great.

Tasted in September of 2025 - Barolista: A Couple Of Days In Piedmont - A Visit To San Biagio - and even better with one more year in the bottle, tight and structured with boatloads of cherry fruit and taut tannins. 10+ years.

2019 Barolo San Rocco
The 19 San Rocco oozes up from the glass with notes of dark perfume, ripe black cherries, tobacco and sweet rosehips. Just lovely.
The taste is pure, tight and concentrated with layered tannins, stunning black cherry fruit, cold coffee and asphalt. The finish goes on and on. 8+ years.

2019 Barolo Riserva Bricco San Biagio
I wrote "drop dead gorgeous" when tasted in January - Barolista: The Barolo Boys In Piedmont - A Visit To San Biagio - and it still is. This time I supplemented with "too kill an die for". Wine doesn´t get better than this. 10+ years.

2020 Alta Langa Riserva
The 2020 is a beauty with a high, pure nose with notes of dried passionfruits, sandelwood and chrushed rocks.
The taste is fresh, forward and racy with notes of lemon biscuits, yellow flowers and gravel. A very fine acidity.
