Two wines from Castillo de Perelada in this post. I visited the estate back in 2015 - Barolista: The Eight Costa Brava Dispatch - A Visit To Castillo de Perelada - a very nice visit indeed.
Previous notes on this trip:
2022 Finca Malaveïna, Castillo de Perelada
A high, interesting nose with notes of cinnamon, root vegetables, lime/lemon peel and some red plums. A fine sweetness to the fruit.
The taste is medium bodied with notes of ginger bread, red plums and moist earth. A nice dry finish.
A blend of 63% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 6% Grenache.

2019 Gresa, Vineys d´Olivardots

The taste is tight and compact with a nice plummy fruit and notes of ink and hot earth. Medium long.

2022 La Garriga, Castillo de Perelada
100% Samsò, or as I normally know the grape, Carignan. The nose is deep and herbal with notes of fresh stables, smoke and a fine mix of raspberries and blueberries. Very fine.
The taste is high and fine with notes of scorched earth, dried raspberries and charcoal. A very fine warmth. Lovely.
