1990 Barolo, Cordero di Montezemolo
Right out of the gate this aged beauty displays aromas of a damp mushroom forest, red cherries, sweet beet roots, veal stock and some haunting truffle scents. Very, very good. Perfectly mature. A very fine sweetness to the fruit. Round and fine.
The taste is mature, dry and old fashioned with notes of red cherries, autumn leaves, rosehips and dried mushrooms. The finish is long, sturdy and warm. Very drinkable. Fully mature. Some foursquare tannins at the very end. Very, very good. Behaved exactly the same on day two.
This Barolo was bared under sea water ?
ReplyDeleteNever been a big fan of this house......Castiglione Falletto has better representative ....Scavino maybe ?
No, just in a damp cellar. :-)
