Live From Eriks Winebar - 2004 Special Club, Paul Bara

Passing by, and thinking, why not...

2004 Special Club, Paul Bara
The nose is steely and focused with notes of candied orange peel, hyachint, dark gravel, tangerines, bread and soap. A fine fruity character. With its 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, it has, right now anyway, more Chardonnay aromas than the other way around.
The taste is tight and, again, steely with notes of apricots, pears, lots of minerals and some soapy notes. A very high acidity, that makes the finish bone dry, a bit too much at this stages I think. Needs food. Good though.

  2. Do you like your Champagne made with more Pinot Noir....or Chardonnay..??

Or you do not care about the blend....but just the final taste ??

    1. Generally I prefer Blanc de Blancs, but that depends on the producer, vintage and blend.
