With some grilled chicken fillets, pappardelle pasta and home made tomatoe sauce, a New Zeeland Pinot Noir worked very well indeed.
2008 James Milton Clos de Ste Anna Pinot Noir Na´both´s Vineyard
A deep, sweet, fine nose with notes of cookie dough, butter fried root vegetables, ripe cherries and rasberries and a nice touch of licorice. Very good. Some spicy notes after a while. Very good, sweet fruit.
The taste is round, sweet and yummy with nice red fruit - think rasberries, lingonberries and red cherries. A nice acidity keeps it from being too sweet. The finish is medium long, but it ends a little on the light side. Very good though. And perfect with the chicken!
