Preparing For Tonight

Will open these bottles at a tasting tonight - really looking forward to that!

Any guesses...? :-)

The bottles tasted - 1968, 1978 and 1988 Fattoria Dei Barbi & 1977, 1995 and 2004 Biondi-Santi - notes to follow!

    1. Carlo & John - you win the grand prize - a dinner at my place whenever you come to Stockholm! :-)

The correct answer is - from left - 1968, 1978 & 1988 Fattoria Dei Barbi and then 1977, 1995 & 2004 Biondi Santi - and the 1995 Biondi Santi the winner, for my palate. Notes to follow.

  3. Joakim,

I am "vintage" 1968. I am very curious to see how the Barbi showed.

    1. Some had it as their favourite - it was very much still alive but I think that the 78 Barbi and the 95 and 04 Biondi Santi was better. I gave it 90p - it was really good though! :-)

    1. Nice line up! I agree with you on the 06 Fuligni and 90 La Gerla!
But unfortunately so was the 77 Biondi-Santi not up to par - I think it have been handled badly somewhere along the line - but glad you had a great bottle!
And I obviously have to look out for the 88 Il Poggione Riserva - I have the 2001, soon to be tasted.
