Drinking Tonight - 1989 Château du Basque

I opened this St Emilion Grand Cru tonight to go along a grilled flapsteak with mixed vegetables and a mushroom and thyme sauce.

1989 Château du Basque
A mature, soft, nice nose with notes of red plums, dried red currants, old leather, dried herbs and some clean stables in a distance. Light, mature and very nice.
The taste is mature and easy to drink with fully resolved tannins and notes of plums, red currants, warm rocks and some tobacco flavours. The finish is medium long, soft and pure. A luncheon claret for dinner, that complimented the meat very nicely.
