I opened this to go along some fine lamb chops with a mushroom sauté and a rosemary sauce.
2010 Chianti Classico Riserva, Panzanello
A rather big but nicely put together nose with notes of ripe red cherries, warm rosemary, violets, a hint of chocolate and some Tuscan gravel. Still young of course but this could turn out very fine.
The taste is warm, caressing and concenterated with a sweet, juicy cherry fruit alongside notes of liquorice, gravel, fresh herbs and dark chocolate. Medium bodied tannins. A high drinkability on this one. Very good.
