1947 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux, Huet
Mature but still very much alive and kicking (we guessed it to be a -97 Huet...). The nose is soft and very deep with notes of moist earth, dried apricots, matchbox and oilcloth. Very complex.
The taste is velvety and concentrated with rich fruit, a high acidity, notes of smoke, apricots and glue. Very long. Again, we thought it to be 50 years younger than it is.
Tasted at the lastest Barolo Boys tasting - Barolista: The Barolo Boys Does Burlotto, Bartolo Mascarello & Giacomo Conterno
94p (tasted 2025/11)
