2012 Cuvée Fayard, Domaine de Fondreche
A gorgeously open, fruity and yet tight nose with notes of sweet blueberries, crushed white peppers, violets, resin, veal stock and a tiny scent of fresh toothpaste. Very fine and with a lot of nerve. Still very young of course, but oooh so promising.
The taste is full to the brim with sweet blueberry fruit, yet cool and balanced with additional notes of licorice, violets, gravel and white peppers. The finish is long, medium bodied and has a fine warmth. Very, very good. I keep topping the glass up all night long.
91p (tasted 2013/12)
