A few grilled black pepper sausages and a spicy potatoe salad screamed for a Syrah.
2011 Right Hand Man Barrel 27 Syrah
97% Syrah and 3% Viognier. A deep, outgoing nose with depth and balance that shows of aromas of blackberries, asphalt, sweet violets and dried flowers. Very fine. There is a hint of toothpaste in the background.
The taste is steady and concentrated with notes of ripe blueberries, violet pastilles, rosehips and some bitter chocolate notes in the finish. Has grip and focus. Long and fine. Very, very good. Too bad it was my only bottle.
