2004 Barolo Bricco Viole, M. Marengo
An open, somewhat mature nose with fine notes of tar, tobacco, herbs, undergrowth, roses and, of course, violet pastilles! Very deep and fine. A fine warmth.
The taste is round and fine with notes of asphalt, mint, dried cherries and incense. A long, warm finish with a fine dry twist. Very, very good. Drink now and the coming 6+ years.
