2012 Barbaresco, Produttori del Barbaresco
This 8 year old Barbaresco shows a bit of maturity, with a pure nose with notes of hard cherry candy, furniture polish, cranberries and iron. Very, very good.
The taste feels younger than the nose leads you to believe, with notes of cherry pips, freeze dried coffee, mineral and violets. A fine tannin structure. 5+ years.

1999 Barbaresco Montestefano, Produttori del Barbaresco
A deep, multi layered nose with notes of autumn leaves, asphalt, dried black cherries, mahogany, violets and fried dark bread. Very complex and fine.
The taste is semi mature, structured and taut with notes of dry licorice, dried black currants, violets and asphalt. Long, warm and seedy. A low keyed intensity. Very fine.
