After this nice La Chablisienne tasting I bought a couple of bottles of my favourite 1er Cru, which wasn´t presented at the tasting. Time to test drive a bottle with some succulent caryfish.
2013 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre, La Chablisienne
A bit steely right out of the bottle, but with air and closer to room temperature, this youngster displays fine notes of lemon fudge, white flowers, hand cream and some nutty aromas. Fresh and fine.
The taste is young and still a bit stern with notes of lemon peel, gravel, dried flowers and star fruit. A fine acidity. Long. Very, very good. Still young of course but drinking fine tonight. 3+ years.
90p (tasted 2017/04)
