2012 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Saint Jean d´Ardières
For me an unknown producer. Bought in a mixed case with a lot of single bottles, just for fun. Some have been poured down the drain upon opening, but this was a nice surprise.
The nose is soft, mature and warm with notes of dried raspberries, undergrowth, candle grease and thyme. Very good in a one-track sense.
The taste is robust yet silky and warm with notes of dried raspberried, dry licorice, earth and herbs. A fine structure. Perfectly mature. A great Wednesday drink.
