2017 Barolo Roncaglie, Chionetti

2017 Barolo Roncaglie, Chionetti
The first vintage of Roncaglie from Chionetti. I have previous tastes Chionetti´s 2015 Bussia Vigna Pianpolvere (also the first vintage of that Cru) when I visited the estate - Barolista: A Couple Of Days In Piedmont - Visits To Fratelli Barale & Chionetti and the 2016 at Grandi Langhe - Barolista: 2016 Barolo At Grandi Langhe.
The 17 Roncaglie shows of a deep, complex nose with notes of ripe red cherries, forest floor, rosehips, polished mahogany and dried flowers. Very fine.
The taste is tight and intense with notes of ripe cherries with some wild strawberries tossed in, bakelite, rosehips and hints of tobacco. Very long. 8+ years.
