1983 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, Daniel Tupinier
This arrived a week ago with some other bottles. Upon unpacking I saw that this bottle had leaked a little bit. I opened it the same day.
The nose is mature and large scaled with notes of dried orange peel, chive, dried ginger and boatloads of chalk. Deep and fine.
The taste is tight and mineral laden with notes of dried lemons, dry grass and ginger. Reminds me of a an old Fino. Nicely balanced. I don´t know how much the leakage have affected the wine, but this is a nice drink.
88p (tasted 2022/12)
