The Barolo Boys In Piedmont - A Visit To Umberto Fracassi

Yet again I find myself in the center of Cherasco, ready to meet the charming Umberto and tasting his wines. I visited him last year - Barolista: A Couple Of Days in Piedmont - Visit To Umberto Fracassi - and had one of most memorable visits ever - Barolista: The Ten Most Memorable Wines Of 2023.

I have tasted an older vintage from the estate - Barolista: 1962 Barolo, Marchese Fracassi di Torre Rossano.

A cool, grassy nose with notes of gravel, basil and white currants. Fresh and fine.
The taste is pure and seedy with notes of grass, white pepper and chives. Very good.
