Once again I pulled out a series of Langhe Nebbiolo from Scavino in half bottles. Last time was 1,5 years ago - Barolista: 2015 - 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo, Paolo Scavino.
2015 Langhe Nebbiolo, Paolo Scavino
A earthy, dry nose with notes of dried cherries, tobacco, sealing wax and undergrowth. Some maturity.
The taste is medium bodied and linear with notes of leather, violets and asphalt. Will probably not get better.
86p (tasted 2024/01)
2016 Langhe Nebbiolo, Paolo Scavino
A tight, fine nose with notes of strawberries, wet earth, smoke and sweet minerals. Very, very good.
The taste is finely structured with silky tannins and notes of dried strawberries, salmiak and violets. Could develop some more.
92p (tasted 2024/01)
2018 Langhe Nebbiolo, Paolo Scavino
A cool, nicely structured nose with notes of red cherries, warm tiles and rosehips. Elegant.
The taste is soft and fine with notes of licorice, cherry pips and tobacco. Cool and fine.
91p (tasted 2024/01)
2019 Langhe Nebbiolo, Paolo Scavino
A fresh, open nose with notes of roses, licorice, strawberries and Langhe earth. Very, very good.
The taste is young and tight with notes of asphalt, dried strawwberries and spices. 3+ years.

2021 Langhe Nebbiolo, Paolo Scavino
A very fine, delicate nose with notes of dried strawberries, almond paste, violets and spices. High and fine.
