The second dose of medicine...
2011 Cumberland Reserve Pinot Noir, Bergström
A big, open, hedonistic nose with notes of mashed raspberries, lots of fresh herbs, raspberry liquorice, bonfire smoke and forest floor. Very good. A fine sweetness to the fruit. Easy going with a medium depth.
The taste is cool, medium bodied and finely structured with notes of raspberry coulis with a hint of vanilla in, smoke, herbs, undergrowth and a touch of resin. A long, balanced finish. A very good wine. The only thing I would write down of the negative side, is that it becomes a tad clumsy when it gets warm in the glass. Very, very good.
90p (tasted 2014/04)
