1987 Volnay Clos des Chênes, Bitouzet-Prieur
Opens a bit funky but with some air fine notes of dried strawberries, moist forest floor, Asian spices and a bonfire in a distance, emerges from the glass. A fine underlying driep up sweetness. Very good. Perfectly mature.
The taste is mature and dry with notes of root vegetables, dried raspberries, undergrowth and dry liquorice. A fine dryness in the medium long finish. A nice mature Volnay that went along great with the grilled chicken fillets and a light mushroom sauce.
