Sometimes you just get an unstoppable craving for some bubbly.
NV Brut Réserve, Charles Heidsieck
Based on the great 2008 vintage it shows a fine, chalky nose with notes of smoke, red currants, lemon cream, hand cream and a touch of white pepper. Very racy and fine. Salivating.
The taste is deep, rich and dry with notes of grilled lemons, freshly cut grass, dry fudge, yellow plums and lots of sweet minerals. A long, finely tuned finish with a cleansing acidity.
40% is reserve wine with an age between 5-15 years. Really fine.
92p (tasted 2017/12)
