2006 Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese, Dönnhoff

2006 Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese, Dönnhoff
The 2006´s are ready for prime time drinking. The last couples of bottles have been ready and that is what I have heard from friends as well. This bottle was proof of that particularly pudding.
The nose is wide open and ready for business with nice notes of dried apriocots, rubber boots, wet asphalt, white raisins and hints of ripe strawberries. Very direct and very good.
The taste is cool and fine, a little more restrained than the nose leads you to believe, with notes of yellow pears, gravel, pine apple juice and dried strawberries. A fine, medium high acidity. For drinking now and the coming 4+ years.
