2019 Brunello di Montalcino, Ciacci Piccolomini d´Aragona
A large scaled, deep, meaty nose with notes of cherry pie, sweet violets, scorched earth and ripe black flowers. There is some warmth here, the label says 15%.
The taste is rich and very concentrated with overripe black cherries, bonfire smoke, chocolate and a long finish where the alcohol shows. Unbalanced. The fruit is top heavy and the finish is hot. Hard to see that this will come together in a good way.
82p (tasted 2024/03)
