Vacation Wines - Number Ten - 2013 Nine Yards Chardonnay, Jordan

With some succulent fillets of cat fish, an arrange of vegetables and a lemon- and herb sauce, I opted for a cool Chardonnay from South Africa, one that previous - the 2011 & the 2012 - have proved to be a serious wine indeed.

2013 Nine Yards Chardonnay, Jordan
A gorgeous. spicy, racy nose with notes of ripe melon, grilled lemons, crushed flint, kaffir lime and some butter cookies in the background. Really classy. As before, it reminds me of an upfront, fine bottle of Puligny-Montrachet. Very, very good.
The taste is tight, focused and fresh with notes of lemon cream, cap gun smoke, melon and almond paste. A long, balanced finish with a fine acidity. Drinking great today and surely for another 8+ years. Jordan has turned out yet another winner.
