Vacation Wines - Number Thirteen - 2011 Saint Joseph Mairlant, Francois Villard

We bought some locally made sausages and put them on the grill. This lovely Syrah was a perfect match.

2011 Saint Joseph Mairlant, Francois Villard
A finely tuned, lightly meaty nose with notes of raw rubber, cranberries, chrushed white peppers and dried flowers. A laid back yet with a fine intensity. Very floral after some time in the glass. This is good!
The taste is cool and refined with notes of ripening blueberries, lingonberries, violet pastilles and some bonfire notes. Great supporting, and a bit dusty tannins in the long finish. Drinking great now and the coming 6+ years. A real bargain at 23 Euro, gonna get me some more.
