Vacaion Wines - Number Eleven - 2008 Chinon Les Picasses, Olga Raffault

After reading the first chapter in Kermit Lynch book "Adventures on the wine route" I got the urge for some Cabernet Franc. Luckily I had brought this bottle with me.

2008 Chinon Les Picasses, Olga Raffault
Right out of the bottle there is some animal scents oozing up from the glass, but after a while and with some coaxing, aromas of black currant leaves, green stalks and tapenade made out of green olives flows up, creating a complex, deep nose. Very interesting and good.
The taste is still young and tight with notes of ripening black currants, cranberries, fried herbs and warm tiles. Medium long with a fine intensity. Racy. Very fine. Too bad this was my only bottle.
