Again, the self proclaimed cape crusader of the virtues of the 1993 vintage, opens another bottle!
1993 Cetinaia, Castello di San Polo in Rosso
This estate has ceased to make its own wine and leases their vineyards to local winemakers. The nose is mature but still possess vigour and joy in the form of sour/sweer cherries, fir smoke, Tuscan gravel and dried rosemary. Very good.
The taste is cool and mature with notes of dried cherries, sage, undergrowth and violets. Medium long and a tad dry at the end of the finish. A fine acidity. A fine drink.
