Burgers & 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Selection, Raymond

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Selection, Raymond
Juicy burgers for tonights dinner with all the fixings - fried onion rings, sallad, my own version of Rhode Island dressing, hard fried bacon, over night tomatoes, sallad and of course Heston´s Perfect Chips.

What to drink? After some hours doing inventory in the cellar, I came up with a bottle of...

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Selection, Raymond
Tasted one year ago, I was deeply impressed but this Napa Cabernet and I bought a bunch. Time to test drive one bottle.
Aaaaah, what a gorgeous, deep, powerful yet high and intense nose, with notes of ripe black currants, mocha, expensive leather, violets and still, a touch of green peppers. Haven´t changed that much on the nose.
But it has on the palate, the tannins are more forward and direct, but they are ripe and very polished. In the background there is plenty of juicy Cabernet fruit in the shape of black currants, tobacco, dark chocolate and red beets. Very long and distinct. Gonna evolve nicely for 10+ years. Can still be bought for 40 Euro, what a bargain!
