2011 Nebbiolo d´Alba Valmaggiore Sibi Et Paucis, Sandrone
The late relesead version of this stunning Nebbiolo. The nose offers up gorgeous scents of dried raspberries, fir wood, autumn leaves, rosehips and herbs. Very deep and fine. High and pure. A very fine note of sun warm gravel after a while.
The taste is fine-limbed and handsome with notes of damsons, sweet lingonberries, tar and herbs. A long, lingering finish with polished tannins. A Barolo in everything but the name. Entering maturity but have, at least, 8+ years to go. Worked wonders with a home made truffle salami pizza.
