A Bottle Of Bubbly - 2008 Biographie, Michel Genet

This is the new name for the previous Prestige de la Cave, of which I recently tasted the 2007.
When I saw that the 2008 - a vintage that I have fallen in love with - had arrived, I bought some bottles and it was time to ease out the cork out of the first bottle.

2008 Biographie, Michel Genet
A cool, elegant, fresh nose meets the nose with lovely notes of buckthorn, buttercups, oatmeal cookies, white peaches and a fine smokiness. Classy. With air a fine note of a vanilla pod emerges. Young of course. This I like. And I will like it even more in the years to come, I´m sure.
The taste is creamy, fresh and compound out of such various things as peaches, butter cookies, nuts, buckthorn and smoke. The finish is long and aristocratic. A very fine acidity. Really fine, but needs a few years in the cellar to mature some. The 2007 is more open for business, even though it also will keep for years. It will be fun comparing the two for years to come, I have bought my share of both.
