Live From Gaston Winebar - Part One

The newly opened winebar in the NK house needed a visit. I opt for - to keep with the ongoing project - a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, in the shape of

2009 Sancerre Galinot Silex, Gitton
This need some swirling to open up and when in does it reveals interesting aromas of warm grass, ripe lemons, yellow apples and a hint of butter cookies. No cat pee here! Deep and fine. Some maturity. Some smoke also, and expensive soap. Very good.
The taste is dry, fresh and salivating with a fine direct taste of white currants and grass, that evolves into dry cookie dough, lemon oil and a hint of rubber. Reminds me more of a white Bordeaux than of a "traditional" Sancerre. A long, dry finish. This is good.
